Do you have persistent or severe bouts of hemorrhoids? If you do your doctor may suggest one of the following treatments.
Rubber band ligation
In this procedure a rubber band is slipped around the base of an internal hemorrhoid to cut off its circulation. This strangles and shrinks the hemorrhoid.
Sclerotherapy
A chemical solution is injected directly into the internal hemorrhoid or the area around it. This solution creates a reaction that stops the blood flow inside the hemorrhoid, causing it to shrink.
Coagulation treatments
Often called IRC, these treatments use a focuesed infrared light to destroy internal hemorrhoids by burning.
Traditional surgical removal of hemorrhoids is usually effective for both internal and external hemorrhoids. However, it is painful and the recovery period can be long. Laser hemorrhoidectomies reportedly do not offer any advantage over traditional surgical techniques.
For hemorrhoids that cause persistent symptoms even after nonsurgical treatments are applied, the results from office treatment or surgery can be very good in the short term. However, without a change in lifestyle many cases of hemorrhoids return after a few months.
Before considering surgery or removal it is best to try less invasive and less costly hemorrhoid treatment products such as Venapro.
Venapro can be used as a treatment for current hemorrhoids or as a preventative method to keep new cases of hemorrhoids from developing.
